The Council seeks to appoint a Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO). The appointment is for 25 hours per month and the salary will be as per the national recommended salary scale commensurate with experience.

The Parish Clerk is responsible for organising all meetings of the Council, publishing agendas and minutes, dealing with correspondence, managing the council website, liaising with other organisations and overseeing certain projects. In addition, as RFO, the Clerk will be responsible for all aspects of financial administration of the Council.

The Clerk works from home and must be computer literate. An allowance is given for fixed expenses and mileage. A laptop and printer/scanner are provided. Attendance at the evening meetings of the Council is a requirement of the position. Meetings normally take place on the second Wednesday of each month.

It is with great sadness that we are writing this, our fellow Councillor James New passed away on Sunday 22nd October. We are all deeply saddened by his passing and our heart felt thoughts go out to his wife, Helen and their baby son, Tobias.

James, or Jimmy as he preferred to be called, was an active member of the Parish Council and served for many years. He will be dearly missed by the Parish Council and Parishioners.

Mobile Library times have changed

For those that are new to the village or don’t know we are fortunate to have a mobile library that visits the parish every 4 weeks on Tuesday, it is parked outside the Helyar Arms Pub (BA22 9JR) 12.40 tp 12.55pm.  If we do not use this amazing service it will  sadly stop.
